The Tony Danza Van

Leaving Canada

The internet what a modern life saver it can be. As with any story in the news, the bad always takes the front page. Seldom do we hear the good. Almost one year to the day, my husband and I, departed Canada to return to the states.
Having made many chathouse friends we arranged to visit them along the way.

After saying a tearful goodbye to lady lara...

Monday morning in Edmonton ,we drove on to Saskatoon where our next stop would be to visit cranky bitch with a bad attitude. What a treat to be served my favourite fruits and vegetables along with one of her delicious stir fry meals. We stayed up talking till four in the morning and then began our long journey across Canada.

Packed heavily in my 1981 "Tony Danza" van, pulling a 1971 heavily loaded camper we slowly moved across the province. We traveled through ice and slush until we got out of Saskatoon and then clear sailing. The old van just hung right with us until we came to a little place called Opasatika, Ontario where *Ole Bessie* just quit. Could not move her, her transmission was over heated. Oh no...what to do.

We went to a restaurant called Le Pioneer where we met Jovette the owner.

She called the tow truck , gave us her car keys and told us to come back and stay the night. Jovette is recent to the internet and said this is the first time she has met someone BEFORE chatting with them. What a lady. After spending $900 to fix the van (replaced the clutch) we stayed the night with her where she fed us supper and breakfast. We were lucky to have had such a great stop along our day void of good luck. Once again we were on our way.

We were stopped twice by the Canadian police...for no reason but I suspect we looked like low class trailer trash with our blue Danza Van and our green bubble camper both loaded to the hilt. I think they were making sure we were not settling in their province. Once they learned we were headed for the states they smiled broadly in relief and we were allowed to leave.

We pushed along heading to Toronto and as luck would have it we met up with two truck drivers that allowed us to ride between them. Chatting on the CB, they got us all the way through Toronto and all that traffic to a truck stop on the 401 where we spent the night in our bubble camper. We then got a hold of goldustwoman and arranged to meet her in Windsor and enjoyed our short meeting. A lovely lady she is. On through the tunnel, prepared for the border patrol to search every box I owned. Much to my surprise they asked if I had any illegal guns or drugs, (like anyone would admit it if they did) showed them my passport and they said *Have a nice Day* WOW my luck was changing.

Parked the van and called hardheadedwoman who met us in Detroit so we could follow her to her home. She was prepared for us, giving us her queen sized bed, buying all our favourite groceries and we are enjoying a great visit. We leave her house Thursday morning to go to LaSalle to visit our chat friend foxywink.

Foxywink got us tickets to Riverdance on Friday which we will enjoy. Then it is off to Hannibal Ohio to spend the weekend and Monday with Mr. K. So the "Beverly Hillbillies" saga will continue from Mr. K's house where, as all of you know, anything can happen!!! Our wish for our friends is one of you will win the lottery and we promise lots of letters to you then! *S*
